The Reason for My West Michigan Wedding Services

Are you dreaming of a romantic beach wedding?  Or maybe you want a small  wedding ceremony at a cozy Bed and Breakfast.  For some that wonderful family beach house overlooking Lake Michigan is the setting you've always wanted for the time when you say, "I do."

Today many couples are choosing to have a wedding ceremony apart from the traditional church setting.  Sometimes this can create difficulty in finding a minister to perform the service.

My goal is to fill this need for a professional, credible wedding officiant who is able to honor the sanctity of the marriage ceremony  but who is also willing to serve the couple according to their desires.

Now, finding the right person to marry you is an important decision – after all, this person will have a huge influence on the tone of your ceremony. You'll want to make sure that you find someone who is willing to perform the kind of ceremony you are envisioning, and who has a style and belief system similar to your own. And of course, you'll want to make sure that they are legally able to marry you in your state.  So take a moment and read about me in the article to the right.  And then see an example of the type of marriage ceremony I typically provide by clicking on the Your Ceremony link.

You can phone me directly, or use our Contact form to get more information or answers to your questions.  Thanks for your inquiry!

About Me

I feel it is a great honor to be instrumental in a marriage ceremony.  This is something I don't take lightly.  Consequently, I feel it is reasonable for every couple to want to know my background.  So let me tell you a bit about myself.

My wife Amy and I have been married 32 years and are blessed with two wonderful daughters.  We are also proud grandparents of three grandchildren.  We are year-round innkeepers of  The Hexagon House Bed and Breakfast in Pentwater Michigan. When not busy with innkeeping duties, we enjoy reading and fussing over Lucy, our Golden Retriever and two cats who choose to remain anonymous.

Prior to becoming an innkeeper, I was involved in church development for 25 years in both part and full-time capacities.  I was ordained with the Church of God in Indiana, but worked for several different denominations including Lutheran, Methodist and non-denominational churches, as well as an international church consulting firm.  My ordination in Michigan is through Lutheran Urban Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
